
Alisoun gained a BSc in Biochemistry from University College, London in 1987 and a PhD in human genetics from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London in 1991. Since qualifying, Alisoun has been instrumental in the start-up of biotechnology companies in both the USA and UK and has broad management and financial skills. She has spent 15 years successfully delivering large multi-centre programmes involving corporate, academic and government partnerships and managing teams of scientists to identify the genetic contributions to diseases such as heart disease, type II diabetes, asthma and obesity.
From 2005 – 2006, Alisoun was interim Operations Director for a start-up fruit juice production company in Ghana, Pinora Ltd where she successfully managed 6.5M USD investment to establish the operational facility and corporate organisational infrastructure.
